Skillet & tobyMac

I went to see the Skillet / tobyMac concert in Champaign, IL last night. I took a few students but we all had ordered our own tickets, so I was sitting in A Section with one of my buddies, Brock. Skillet was really good. I love watching them in concert. That's the second time I had the chance to see them, and it was even better this time than the last time. (And the last time I loved it)

I got to see a friend of mine from Lincoln that I used to play baseball with. He was actually working at the concert. He was able to get me a wristband to go down right in front of the stage. It was pretty cool. I was down there when the tobyMac part of the concert started.

Although tobyMac began the concert from the middle of the crowd, he made his way down through the crowd and onto the stage. I didn't realize how little he really is. He's not a big guy at all, and it probably makes him seem even small after watching the lead singer of Skillet play for awhile.

Something I didn't mention, when tobyMac was on his way down to the stage after starting in the middle of the crowd. In order for him to get on stage, he did some crowd surfing through the people that were on the floor, the place where I had recently joined. In attempting to help lift him up, he kicked me in the chest. (totally on accident) How many guys can say that tobyMac kicked them in the chest though. I feel like I have a pretty unique one time interaction for a memory now.

He did a good job with the concert too. I just really liked Skillet. They had a lot of pyrotechnics, and they really play to the crowd. It was amazing! If you get a chance to go see the Awake Tonight Tour, I'd definitely recommend it. It was a great show, and they make sure you know that they are doing it because they love Jesus!
