It's been exciting here lately.
As a group, we've been coming up with ideas for future outreach events. The students decided that they want to raise money and awareness in the community for underprivileged regions of the world. We are going to participate in World Visions 30 Hour Famine in April. We're not doing this because I wanted to do it. We are going to be a part of this because the students decided we should do it.
There's one student who's about 15 years old, he is realizing things about himself that he wants to change, and he is turning himself over to God through confession to his peers. He knows that he has been wrong for a long time, and he wants to repent. At church this Sunday he wants to apologize to the other students. He isn't apologizing so everyone will feel sorry for him. He is mad at himself for the way he has treated people and the things that he has done, and he wants to use his story to help other students who are going through similar situations. Whether it was getting drunk to act cool, making others think he was tough, believing he was better than everybody else, lying to friends, emotionally hurting girls, or doing drugs, he wants to rid his life of all these things. He is struggling right now with gaining people's trust, but he understands that trust isn't something that will just come overnight. Nevertheless, he is desperately trying. It seems God has truly come alive in his life, and I just pray that he continues to look to God for guidance and support. I am not going to mention his name here, but you now know his story. Please pray for him right now.
